The ISAM (International Symposium on Audiological Medicine) has been an annual event since 2008, to promote Audiology, build an ambience of cooperation among professionals in ear and hearing care, highlight the contribution of different stakeholders and technology transfer through global connect. The Autonomous Institute of Health Sciences is working since 25 years in the domain of Audiological rehabilitation, offering UG and PG programs, with recognition of Rehabilitation Council of India. IHS is hosting the ISAM 2024 at Bhubaneswar in the last weekend of February.
Indian Audiology industry is having massive potential for serving the ever-growing sector. But there never was any focus on the industry needs or the solution. On the sidelines of ISAM, a workshop is organised on Audiological Engineering, which will be Industry Institution Interface. Prestigious institutions like IITs are participating in the event. International Symposium on Audiological Medicine has started as an annual event of professional experts in ear and hearing care. Thus the tagline was, "where ear meets hearing". The amalgamation of knowledge to develop the insight happened with international resource persons interacted with national professional fraternity in Audiology and Otolaryngology. Reaching out to the affected people with solutions happened with Hear Expo where a public professional interface was created. Not only a congregation of professional experts but capacity building happened with live Cochlear implant surgery for local ENT surgeon and Audiologist during ISAM. Encouraging research through rewards, was preparing Indian professionals for "hearing future algorithms"... ISAM 2024 will be more inclusive, better representative of the cross section of the profession in India. Being hosted within an excellent rehabilitation ecosystem of Institute of Health Sciences at Bhubaneswar, it will amaze the participants. When all stakeholders make commoncause of progress, "balancing sound health" is possible ....
